Nearly 150 racers were in Luskville last weekend for the 33rd annual Super Tour Fall Bracket Championship presented by NAPA Auto Parts in collaboration with Amalie Oil Canada, B&W Race Cars and Giddy up Designs.
Max Gauthier from Belleville drove his Vega to a Gambler’s race win on Friday afternoon defeating Carl Soucy from Gatineau with his Diamond Dragster. Darren Frasso and Daniel Barker both from Belleville were the semifinalists.
In the Pro class, it was Jonathan Roy from Val d’Or getting the win over Mike Armstrong.
Saturday, 75 entries were registered in the Super Pro category. Ottawa’s Dave Rennie scored his second Super Tour win this season scoring big against Frank Angers from Laval in the final round. Rennie had the advantage of Mike Chenier from Gatineau while Angers took out Landyn Urslak from Oxford Mills in the semifinals.
In the Pro category, Eric Monaghan from Val Cartier took win with his Ford Mustang against Chantal Grenier from Terrebonne with her Firebird. Monaghan had the bye run to the finals as Chantal took out Lawrence Williams with his Telsa.
Two 32-car High Rollers races were presented in the evening. However, the finals were contested on Sunday morning due to the rain. In Super Pro, Phil Harvey was the winner over Terry Miron and Gab Jensen took the Pro win against Mike Labelle.
Sunday, Phil Harvey signed a second victory on the same day by eliminating Julie Dube in the Super Pro final round. Dube had the upper hand on Serge Forget while Harvey eliminated Kyle Jessup in the semifinal round.
The Pro class was the business of Eric Monaghan this weekend who signed a second win in as many days getting the win over Larry Lepine and his bike on Sunday. Monaghan had the advantage over Gab Jensen in the semi-finals.
Two 16-car High Roller races were also presented on Sunday. In Super Pro, Rachel Ogilvie signed her first career win by taking out young Felix Ballabey and Stephen Ballantyne won over Yvan Grenier on the Pro side.
In the Junior Dragster class, Shelbie Seguin took the win against Audree Valarie on Saturday and Xavier Magny won over Parker Seguin on Sunday.
The next and last Bracket Super Tour race of the season will take place on October 1 and 2 at Luskville Dragway. The Canadian Bracket Finals presented by PARA Performance in collaboration with Speedy Auto Gatineau and Val-D’Or Chrysler is likely to attract a record number of competitors like every season!
