The 2024 drag racing season has come to a close, and what a season it has been! From fierce competition to incredible displays of skill, this year’s championship battles were nothing short of thrilling. Drivers from across Canada put their talents on full display, pushing themselves and their vehicles to the limits in pursuit of national glory. As the dust settles, we proudly announce the national champions of the 2024 Canadian Super Tour series, where Mike Chenier, Brandon Barker, and Larry Jr. Lépine have emerged as the top contenders in their respective categories. Their journeys to the top were marked by consistency, perseverance, and some truly spectacular performances on the track. Let’s take a closer look at the highlights of their triumphant seasons and the other top competitors who made the 2024 championship an unforgettable one.
Mike Chenier (Gatineau, QC) – 2008 Chevy Corvette – Total: 10,900 points
The 2024 Super Pro OVERALL national champion is Mike Chenier from Gatineau, QC, driving his 2008 Chevy Corvette, with an impressive total of 10,900 points. Chenier showed great consistency throughout the season, reaching several semi-finals, including at the Bracket Bonanza Week in Luskville (R5 and R7), and again at the Canadian Bracket Finals in Napierville (R10). At the Fall Bracket Championship in Luskville (R8), Mike delivered a remarkable performance, finishing as a runner-up and semi-finalist with his two entries. He then reached the semi-final at the Canadian Bracket Finals in Napierville (R9). This is Chenier’s 4th season in the Top 10, with his previous best being a 4th place finish in 2022. This is his first time as champion.
Brandon Barker (Smiths Falls, ON) – 2011 Diamond Dragster – Total: 9,000 points
The 2024 Super Pro Dragster champion is Brandon Barker from Smiths Falls, ON, who had a solid season without any victories, but reached the semi-finals three times. His best performances came at the Bracket Bonanza Week in Luskville (R6), at the Canadian Bracket Finals in Napierville (R9), and again at the Fall Bracket Championship in Luskville (R10). These results earned him 9,000 points, securing his place among the season’s top drivers. Brandon Barker is a two-time Super Tour champion, having previously won the championship in 2018. This marks his 5th season in the Top 10.
Roch Beaudoin (Corbeil, ON) – 1988 Chevy Camaro – Total: 8,800 points
In 3rd place, Roch Beaudoin from Corbeil, ON, driving his 1988 Chevy Camaro, accumulated 8,800 points. Among his best performances, he was runner-up at the Fall Bracket Championship in Luskville (R9) and also reached the quarter-finals at the Summer Bracket Nationals in Luskville (R3), earning him a spot among the top Super Pro drivers this season. This is Beaudoin’s 4th season in the Top 10 and his 2nd consecutive season, having finished 5th last year. His best performance remains a 2nd place finish in 2018.
Lanctot & Sons (St-Eustache, QC) – Corvette Roadster – Total: 8,500 points
The Lanctot & Sons team from St-Eustache, QC, had an impressive season with their Corvette Roadster, accumulating 8,500 points. Their season was highlighted by a runner-up finish at the Summer Bracket Nationals in Luskville (R3) and a semi-final at the Bracket Bonanza Week in Luskville (R6). Thanks to these performances and consistent results throughout the year, they secured a place in the Top 5. This marks the 3rd season for Lanctot & Sons in the Top 10, with their best performance dating back to 2020, when they finished 3rd.
Brock Godmaire (Kirkland Lake, ON) – Chevy Monza – Total: 8,300 points
Brock Godmaire from Kirkland Lake, ON, driving his Chevy Monza, finished with 8,300 points and recorded key performances during the season. The defending Super Pro champion, Brock stood out once again for a second consecutive season. He was runner-up at the Bracket Bonanza Week in Luskville (R6) and solidified his place in the Top 5. His consistency also shone during the Spring Bracket Break in Napierville (R2), where he reached the quarter-finals, reaffirming his status as one of the top Super Pro drivers.

Larry Jr. Lépine (Gatineau, QC) – 2010 Suzuki Hayabusa – Total: 11,400 points
The 2024 Footbrake category champion is Larry Jr. Lépine from Gatineau, QC, driving his 2010 Suzuki Hayabusa, with an impressive total of 11,400 points. He succeeds last year’s champion, Mike Reynolds, and earns a $1,500 prize, a champion’s jacket, and a trophy. Additionally, the Top 10 drivers receive a prize. Larry Jr. Lépine started the season impressively, reaching the semi-final at the Spring Bracket Break in Napierville (R2). He was then runner-up at the Summer Bracket Nationals in Luskville (R4), demonstrating exemplary consistency. During the Bracket Bonanza Week in Luskville (R6), he was again runner-up. Finally, he crowned his season with a victory at the Fall Bracket Championship in Luskville (R8), which solidified his place as champion. This is his 3rd time in the Top 5, having finished 3rd in 2022 and 5th in 2023.
Jensen & Son (Kemptville, ON) – 1983 Chevy Camaro – Total: 8,100 points
Darryl and Gab Jensen delivered their best performance of the season by winning the Summer Bracket Nationals in Luskville (R4). They also reached the semi-finals at the Bracket Bonanza Week in Luskville (R6), which kept them among the best throughout the season. This marks their 2nd time in the Top 5 and their 6th appearance in the Top 10.
Stephen Ballantyne (Gatineau, QC) – 1984 Chevette – Total: 7,800 points
Stephen Ballantyne reached the semi-finals at the Summer Bracket Nationals in Luskville (R4), solidifying his place among the favorites. He then won a victory at the Bracket Bonanza Week in Luskville (R5). Finally, at the Fall Bracket Championship in Luskville (R9), he finished as runner-up, capping off a strong season. Stephen Ballantyne continues to show consistency with his 6th time in the Top 7 in 7 years. He previously finished 2nd in 2019, 2021, and 2022, and ends this season in 3rd place.
Noémie Ballabey (St-Michel, QC) – 2006 Honda Civic – Total: 7,500 points
Noémie Ballabey stood out as a runner-up multiple times, notably during the Bracket Bonanza Week in Luskville (R5), and again at the Bracket Bonanza Week in Luskville (R7). She continued this streak by finishing runner-up at the Canadian Bracket Finals in Napierville (R10), showing impressive consistency throughout the season. This is her best score since 2020 when she finished 3rd and won Rookie of the Year.
François Rondeau (Ste-Julie, QC) – 1969 Chevy Camaro – Total: 6,500 points
François Rondeau delivered solid performances, reaching the quarter-finals at the Summer Bracket Nationals in Luskville (R3) and the Bracket Bonanza Week in Luskville (R5). He also reached the quarter-finals at the Canadian Bracket Finals in Napierville (R11), keeping him in the top 5 drivers. This is his 3rd consecutive appearance in the Top 5, after finishing 3rd in 2023.

Parker Seguin (North Bay, ON) – Junior Dragster – Total: 8,500 points
The 2024 Junior category championship on the Super Tour saw fierce competition among young drivers, with impressive performances throughout the season. Parker Seguin from North Bay, ON, claimed the championship title behind the wheel of his Junior Dragster, with a total of 8,500 points, thanks to his consistency and talent throughout the season. Parker Seguin had an exceptional season, with strong performances in multiple rounds. He scored 900 points at the Spring Bracket Break (R1) and repeated with 900 points at the Fall Bracket Championship (R8). Parker also won victories in R2 and R3, confirming his talent throughout the season.
Julia Malcolm (Ottawa, ON) – Junior Dragster – Total: 7,900 points
Julia Malcolm finished second with an impressive total of 7,900 points. She secured the most wins this season, standing out at the Summer Bracket Nationals (R4) and winning both races at the Fall Bracket Championship (R8) and (R9), which largely contributed to her position as vice-champion.
Lea Monaghan (Valcartier, QC) – Junior Dragster – Total: 7,700 points
Lea Monaghan showed remarkable consistency throughout the season, with results such as 1,300 points at the Bracket Bonanza Week (R7) and 1,100 points at the Fall Bracket Championship (R8). These solid performances secured her third place in the overall standings.
Katie Adams (Ottawa, ON) – Junior Dragster – Total: 7,200
Katie Adams finished the season in fourth place with 7,200 points. Her best result came during the Bracket Bonanza Week (R7), where she scored 1,100 points, followed by 1,300 points at the Summer Bracket Nationals (R3). She also won a victory at the Canadian Bracket Finals (R10), adding another strong performance to her season.
Mavrick Angers (Laval, QC) – Junior Dragster – Total: 6,700 points
Mavrick Angers demonstrated his competitive spirit by scoring 1,500 points at the Spring Bracket Break (R1), where he claimed victory. He also delivered a strong performance as runner-up at the Fall Bracket Championship (R9), which allowed him to finish in the top five of the championship.
As the 2024 season wraps up, the achievements of this year’s champions will undoubtedly go down in the history. But the excitement doesn’t end here.
